A Great Academic Foundation is Priceless ... and We Believe our Children Are Too.....
At Light & Life Christian School we strive to meet strict curriculum standards as set by the State of New York. Our students consistently score above average on standardized testing. There is a strong phonics emphasis in the early grades and it is common for our kindergarteners to be reading by December of their entering year.
Light & Life students compete at the ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) Spelling Bee and Art Competition, placing well in both events.
While adhering to guidelines as set by NYS, we also keep a strong emphasis on God and prayer during our school day. Jesus goes to school here and it has made all the difference. A Bible curriculum is incorporated in all grades and children actively participate in weekly chapel services.
In addition, each year our 4th through 8th grade students take learning outside of the classroom as they attend a 3 day excursion to Spruce Lake Outdoor School in PA -- a Christian outdoor school where children learn many hands on aspects of nature.
Finally, we believe in encouraging our students and building their self esteem in order that they might flourish in all they do.
